About the Neighborhood Wellness Centers Program
El Bethel Baptist Church is an official Neighborhood Wellness Center, part of a statewide initiative backed by the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) and staffed in partnership with The Wellness Plan Medical Centers.
The program was created to bring free preventive healthcare directly into communities, addressing health disparities and connecting residents with essential resources. With a $17 million investment from the state, Neighborhood Wellness Centers are placed in trusted community spaces like churches, community colleges, and civic centers across Michigan.
El Bethel is one of the only Neighborhood Wellness Center locations outside of the Detroit city limits, making it a critical access point for residents of Redford Township and the surrounding communities.
